4Runner Morimoto XB EVO Headlights - Install and Product Review

Morimoto has been making one of the best aftermarket headlights for the 4Runner the last few years with the Morimoto XB Headlight. Now, they are changing the game again with the all new Morimoto XB EVO 4Runner Headlights. This isn't a simple refresh of the existing XB Headlight, this is a ground up redesign with an all new DRL design, brighter LED Projectors, and a new turn signal option. We just installed this all new Morimoto XB EVO Headlight on our flagship 4Runner Lifestyle build and we're excited to share our experience with them.

Design

 The new Morimoto XB EVO Headlight is a complete redesign from the XB Headlight before. With a new sleeker DRL design and a variety of new features, the XB EVO 4Runner Headlight is sure to be the go to choice when shopping for aftermarket 4Runner Headlights. Endless Customization

The Morimoto XB EVO Headlight is more customizable than ever before. With the old XB Headlight you had to choose between amber or white DRLs and didn't have the ability to switch the color once you made your choice, now you can. The XB EVO now comes with "keys" that allow you to choose between a white or amber DRL with a simple plug in. Gone are the days of having to make your choice before your purchase, now this feature is available whenever you want to switch. Not only can you change the DRL of your headlights, you can now choose between a sequential turn signal and an all new fade out turn signal. This gives you customization never before seen on aftermarket 4Runner headlights.

More Light Than Ever

When Morimoto released the original XB 4Runner headlight it changed the game with a lighting output that greatly improved on the standard OEM 4Runner headlights. Morimoto not only improved lighting output over the original XB headlights but also allows you to choose between the standard headlight output of 50% or a new supercharger (non DOT compliant) that brings the headlights performance up to 80%. This Supercharger is not street legal but is great for lighting up the trail during off-road use. 

No More Wiring Harness Headaches

When buying the old XB Headlight you had to choose the wiring harness that fit your 4Runner year and trim which became a headache for many people buying the headlights. With the XB EVO this is no longer an issue. When buying the all new Morimoto XB EVO Headlight, every wiring harness will be available out of the box so you can be sure your headlight is compatible with your 4Runner. 

Install

Morimoto made the XB EVO headlight as easy to install as the original XB with a simple plug and play design. Start by removing the three bolts holding the OEM headlight and disconnect the wiring harness. Next, replace the OEM headlights with the new XB EVO Headlights, find the wiring harness that is compatible with your 4Runner year and trim, then plug in all the connectors.
