The Deadman™ Earth Anchor™ (patent pending) is the world’s most versatile off-road recovery anchor, capable of anchoring to just about anything Mother Earth throws your way. Lightweight and easily stowed under your seat, it’s the self-recovery anchor that’s always with you, allowing you to explore with confidence!
While the Deadman loves to go around hugging trees or rocks, he is also an extremely capable ground anchor as well. Instead of debating whether to carry a heavy metal ground anchor, the Deadman becomes the ground anchor that’s a permanent member of your recovery kit.
With a Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) ranging from 16,600 - 66,400 after assembly (depending on its configuration), the Deadman will be the strongest member of your recovery kit. We've gone to great lengths to ensure we get every last ounce of strength out of these American made, Class VII polyester industrial slings. The Deadman won't let you down!
The Deadman Bodybag -- After the recovery, clean up the evidence with the Deadman Bodybag. Designed specially to hold the Deadman Earth Anchor, the bag is large enough to carry your soft shackles, and some gloves, pretty much everything you need for a straight forward self-recovery. Strap it to your roll bars or throw it in the back of your rig & go!
Made from industrial grade love, PVC vinyl, and a MOLLE system for attaching additional gear. Also there is a velcro patch for you to rep your favorite brands!
The Deadman Shackles

** The Deadman requires two shackles when used in the ground. Metal shackles do work, though soft shackles are much more convenient and easier to work with. **
The Deadman Soft Shackle is made in the USA and is exceptionally strong. Made with the same materials used in synthetic winch lines, this soft shackle has a minimum breaking strength of 30,000 lbs (in testing, many have held up to 40,000 lbs!).
We prefer to use soft shackles because they're stronger, safer, lighter, and easier to work with than their metal counterparts. By using soft shackles, we remove more metal from our winching system and thereby lessen the potential for serious harm in the event of a break.
Besides, these shackles match the Deadman's eyes.
The RUGGEDIZED Deadman, all of the webbing has been sleeved with a heavy duty Cordura to protect the bits that do all the heavy lifting. When the Deadman is put to use in the ground or around rocks, this sleeving guards the poly webbing from becoming damaged, protecting you and prolonging the life of your Deadman.
Bonus: he's completely blacked out. 😎

Deadman RUGGED Shackle -- made in the USA and is exceptionally strong and has a tightly woven protective sheath that makes the shackle very abrasion resistant. Narrower, longer, and with a wider eye than similar rugged shackles, the Deadman RUGGED Shackle has been made to our standards based on real-world usage.
Made with the same materials used in synthetic winch lines, this soft shackle has a minimum breaking strength of 43,500 lbs (WLL is 8,700).
We prefer soft shackles because they're stronger, safer, lighter, and easier to work with than their metal counterparts. By using soft shackles, we remove more metal from our winching system and thereby lessen the potential for serious harm in the event of a break.

The Deadman Stretchy Band
The Deadman Stretchy Band kinetic recovery rope is an essential tool in your recovery arsenal for vehicle-to-vehicle recovery. Unlike a tow strap or the Deadman which uses static fibers (non-stretch), the Stretchy Band is designed with fibers that stretch up to 30% under load, absorbing shock loads and acting like a rubber band to give a little extra yank to the stuck vehicle. This is great for vehicle-to-vehicle recoveries where one vehicle is stuck, but this stretchy property makes it a bad choice for towing (we advise you do not).
When deciding which Stretchy Band is best for you, try to match or exceed your vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). This will ensure you're using a Stretchy Band strong enough to handle your vehicle when its in a tight spot. However, if you regularly play with friends a little bigger than you, consider sizing up so you can safely yank them free as well!
