The Roam standard awning makes for an easy setup shelter for plenty of relief from the sweltering sun and inclement weather. Designed to endure all of your adventures, it is made of waterproof, polycotton ripstop material with all-aluminum framing. Add on an awning room to the 6.5’ awning for additional shelter. This awning comes with a universal mounting kit* and is designed for mounting to a variety of roof racks or add the Prinsu Awning Mounting brackets from the dropdown for the easiest and best solution to mount your awning to a Prinsu Roof Rack.

The 6.5' is the recommended and most popular size for mounting on a 5th Gen 4Runner (2010-2024)

ROAM 6.5 ft Awning

One of the best awnings on the market! The 6.5 ft is the ideal size for the 4Runner, especially if you care about keeping things aesthetically pleasing/proportionate on the side of your roof rack. Great quality and looks awesome. One thing I really didn’t see any information on is the ROAM LED Track lights. They ARE compatible with this awning, website’s really make them seem like they’re only for the 270 awnings just due to pictures. Track on this awning is on the front. Go get yourself one if you are in the fence!

Is there a particular reason the 6.5 is recommended? What’re the cons of getting the 8 in length awning?

The 6.5 fits the side of the 4runner without any overhang and that is what you will get with the 8 but if that doesn't bother you the 8 is an awesome option as well!

The description says this comes with a universal mounting kit, but there is an asterisk next to that statement. Will this work with factory side rails and crossbars?

What is the difference between the standard brackets and the quick release brackets other than the obvious. Is one better or more secure than the other for the Prinsu roof rack?

They're going to be exactly the same except for one is easy to take off and throw back on, they're both really secure. So basically if you're going to be taking off your awning frequently get the quick release ones, if you're going to leave it on all the time get the standard brackets.
